What we are

ApplyDonkey is an AI-powered job application service. You upload your resume, set your job preferences, and our agent fills out job applications on company websites on your behalf. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive and store your name, email address, and profile image from Google.

Portfolio data you provide

To fill out job applications on your behalf, we collect the information you enter into your portfolio:

  • Name, email, phone number, and mailing address
  • LinkedIn URL and portfolio/website URL
  • Professional summary
  • Work experience (company, title, location, dates, description)
  • Education (institution, degree, GPA, graduation date)
  • Skills, languages, and proficiency levels
  • Certifications (name, organization, dates, credentials)
  • Projects (name, description, technologies, URL)
  • Awards and volunteering experience
  • Custom resume sections

Files you upload

We store resumes (PDF/DOCX) and cover letters you upload. These files are stored in our private object storage (S3-compatible), organized by your user ID.

Job search and application data

  • Your job search preferences (desired positions, locations, employment types, excluded companies, custom instructions)
  • Job listings we surface for you (title, company, location, salary, description, URL)
  • Application records, including the status of each application and the exact form fields submitted

Billing data

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan tier, subscription status, and billing period dates. We do not store your credit card number or bank details.

How we use your data

  • Filling out job applications: Your portfolio data, resume, and cover letters are sent to the AI model and used by the browser automation agent to complete application forms on employer websites.
  • Finding jobs for you: Your search preferences (position titles, locations, employment types, company exclusions) are sent to a third-party job listing API to find matching openings.
  • Resume parsing: When you upload a resume, the document text is sent to the AI model to extract structured data (work experience, education, skills, etc.) into your portfolio.
  • Managing your subscription: Your email and Stripe customer ID are used to create and manage your billing subscription.
  • Authentication and security: Session data is used to maintain your login session and detect unauthorized access.

Third-party services

We share data with the following services to operate ApplyDonkey:

  • Google Gemini (AI model): Receives your resume text and portfolio data to parse resumes and fill out application form fields. Processed per Google's API data usage policies.
  • Google OAuth: Used for sign-in. We receive your name, email, and profile image from Google.
  • Stripe: Handles all payment processing. Receives your email for billing. We never see or store your card details.

We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

Cookies

We use a single HTTP-only secure session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for the service to function and cannot be used for tracking. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database. Uploaded files (resumes, cover letters) are stored in private S3-compatible object storage. Session cookies are HTTP-only and marked secure in production, with SameSite protection enabled.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can:

  • Delete individual resumes and cover letters at any time
  • Clear or update any portfolio data at any time
  • Delete your account, which permanently removes all your data

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all data we hold about you (visible in your portfolio and application history)
  • Correct any inaccurate data by editing your portfolio
  • Delete your data by removing individual items
  • Cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ApplyDonkey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
